TEXT
O Nata Lux (Latin)
O nata lux de lumine,
Jesu redemptor saeculi,
dignare clemens supplicum
laudes preces que sumere.
Qui carne quondam contegi
dignatus es pro perditis,
nos membra confer effici
tui beati corporis.
O Nata Lux (English Translation)
O light born of light,
Jesus, Redeemer of the world,
With loving kindness deign to hear
the praises and prayers which they offer.
You who once considered it right
to be clothed in flesh for sinners,
grant us to be made one
with your blessed body.
Surge Illuminare (Latin)
Surge, illuminare, Jerusalem,
quia venit lumen tuum,
et gloria Domini super te orta est.
Quia ecce tenebrae operient
terram et caligo populos.
Super te autem orietur Dominus
et gloria ejus in te videbitur.
Surge Illuminare (English Translation)
Arise, be enlightened O Jerusalem,
for your light is come,
and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
and gross darkness the people.
But the Lord shall arise upon you,
and his glory shall be seen upon you.
Lux Aeterna (Latin)
Lux aeterna luceat eis, Domine,
cum Sanctis tuis in aeternum, quia pius es.
Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine,
et lux perpetua luceat eis.
Lux Aeterna (English Translation)
May everlasting light shine upon them, O Lord,
with thy saints in eternity, for thou art merciful.
Grant them eternal rest, O Lord,
and may everlasting light shine upon them.
